Osteopathy is based on the principle that if the structure of the body is not balanced and healthy, then the function is affected. Osteopaths use physical techniques with the aim of -
- increasing the mobility of the joints
- relieving muscle tension
- reducing pain
- enhancing blood supply to tissues
- helping the body to heal
Osteopaths can help with a range of conditions, such as;
- Back and neck pain
- Headaches arising from the neck
- Joint and muscle pain
- Problems with the pelvis, hips and legs
- Sciatica
- Arthritis and arthritic pain
- Sports Injuries
- Shoulder and elbow pain eg Tennis Elbow
- Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (nerve compression)
- Muscle and joint pain associated with driving or work
- Pregnancy-related joint pain or postural changes
Osteopaths work under the principle that there may be a number of contributing factors to the symptoms and will therefore evaluate not only the area which is producing the symptoms, but also look at associated factors - such as past trauma, environmental factors and the family’s health history.
For instance, a sprained ankle can cause someone to limp, but stiffness or restricted mobility in the pelvis, hips, spine or legs can make it difficult to compensate for the limp and pain may occur.
Adults
As adults, we have a life story and when seeing the Osteopath for the first time, it is important that they understand your individual story. You may have had accidents, illnesses, surgery or other traumas that have had a lasting impact on your body. Therefore, the Osteopath will be aware of these events and mindful of them when creating a treatment plan for you. Osteopathy treatment can help the body to manage the impact these events have had on you, enabling you to start healing fully, even if they were years ago.

This list describes some of the common conditions I see at the practice. However patients ask for Osteopathic treatment for many other health issues. I believe that Osteopathy has something to offer everyone, so feel free to contact me to discuss your current issues.

I have been treated by Tanya about 5/6 times for various injuries and I have to say I always feel immediately relieved and relaxed after our sessions. I am not sure exactly how she does it but she definitely knows her stuff and my body reacts to her so quickly. She is always very professional i would highly recommend her to anyone who has niggling concerns or injuries. She is worth every penny in my eyes

I had the most effective treatment with Tanya! Tanya diagnosed my left chest and arm pain as being caused by some compressed nerves between my spine and shoulder blade. After the very first session I had a massive improvement! My problem disappeared after a couple more sessions thanks to the effective diagnose and treatment! I vividly recommend Tanya as she was incredibly professional, kind, and effective!

I had excellent and most enjoyable treatment from Tanya. I went to get help with a limp which I had (and was getting worse) following a severe break to my ankle some years ago. After a few sessions with Tanya working on my stiff leg and hip muscles and flexing my ankle my walking has improved tremendously. Thank you Tanya.

Tanya is so patient and calm and just utterly wonderful. As a photographer always holding my cameras and scrunching up my shoulders awkwardly, or just slouched all the time as a computer, I suffer shoulder and neck pains a lot especially after a busy wedding season. On a few occasions I have taken too long to book my appointment with Tanya and I am in so much pain but Tanya always has a magic way of relieving all the tension in mostly just one session!! I always joke with her that she is a miracle worker. She is so highly trained and everyone I suggest to see her is 'wowed' by her skills. Don't live with aches and pains!! Go see Tanya 🙂

Tanya has been fantastic in helping to relieve some persistent back pain, and also in identifying that I needed additional support from a podiatrist to correct the underlying issue. Tanya is very knowledgeable and great at what she does, I’d highly recommend her.

Tanya has made such an amazing difference for me. I went to her with a painful knee and hip. Her first assessment quickly identified the problem areas. Subsequent treatment quickly resolved the knee problem and the hip issue is improving at a pace. Highly recommended 5*
